Infopreneur Niches
Where do I Start?
It is obvious that this posting is directed at the novice, not the professional. So first, a niche is the particular area of specialization in which you have chosen (or will choose) within infopreneur marketing.
It has been said that everyone has a book inside of them. Well, that may be true, but most of us have a hard time trying to figure out what our book is and how we are going to get it out.
We can’t believe that we can do the same as the published authors that we read daily. Yet, each of us has experiences that are unique to us and that only we can express. Each of us become specialists to some degree in our work, our hobbies, and even our sports activities. We just have to figure out what we know that others would like to know and go from there.
What kind of informational products should you begin with? The key factors here are what you are interested in and what someone else (your prospective market) is interested in. If your interest is so limited in scope that only you and a handful of other people are interested in you topic, then you should forget it. If, on the other hand, the informational topic that you choose is a topic that thousands of people of interested in, then you have a product worthy of consideration. After all, if there is no market, there is no business. So, you need to choose carefully.
Some of the most successful infopreneurs have emphasized how-to-articles and special reports. There is always a market for this type of informational product as long as it deals with a topic that is current and in demand. This is an area of expertise that is easily learned and remarkably lucrative.
Others have begun their infopreneur career with a book. Books take time to write, are expensive to market, and percentage wise, offer little compared to the work expended to create it. If, however, writing a book is your “cup of tea”, then do it. Adding digital books, audio books, and other derivations of your book can create a package deal that also can be very profitable.
Public domain works and derivations from them on the other hand offer a quick way to get out a new informational product. It is much easier to re-format, re-write, or compile a work than it is to write it from scratch. This is an infopreneur area that has not been fully utilized by many and holds boundless opportunities due to the multitude of works that are available in the public domain now. Other works are continuously entering the public domain due to non-renewal of copyrights. We are offering a package on public domain works which can provide the information you need to get started with this niche. More on this later.
Another wide open market is children’s books. There is always a market for timely, innovative topics for children. Personalized children’s books (with the name of a specific child and her friends as characters) have been popular for quite some time now.
Do you like to travel? Maybe being an infopreneur that specializes in travel publications is for you. There are thousands of travel books written by travel writers. Pick a new angle, and go for it. [I might add here that travel writing is one of my favorite ways to spend my time and I keep up postings regularly on my Everything Travel Blog].
There is another option which is open to all of us. You may get started by using other’s products through affiliate marketing. This is often the faster way for a beginning infopreneur to get started since you are advertising and pre-selling someone else’s product. The product has already been developed for you.
The main thing is to start. Start defining your goals and directions now.
